Most, if not all, of you believe in God. And most of those believe in the same God that I do. Just what kind of God is this that I believe in?? The one Supreme Being that created everything. He is full of love for all of His creation. Everything and everyone in it. He shows His love by rewarding those that follow His commandments. That is all that He asks. Now let's think about that. Are His commandments to harsh or stern? Do they prevent enjoyment? Are they unreasonable?? I really think not. And -no- they were not nailed to the cross... our sins were!!

The Ten Commandments as personally spoken and written by God: Exodus 20:
I
  1. I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
  2. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Now there are some who would say that this is 'old' and only applies to the Jews. Well, that is not true. The "Jews" are only one of the tribes of Israel. The tribe of Judah. That is how they got their name. Jew was/is short for Judah. Israel in reality consists of the 12 tribes which come from the 12 sons of Jacob. It was Israel, the Nation, that was brought out of Egypt by the Lord. (Remember that Israel is the Nation and the Jews are only part of it. NOT the whole thing.) Also you will find that many times in the Bible, bondage is associated with sin. Sin is defined as; a transgression of God's Law. Transgression is a violation of law. To violate means to disobey; not follow the rules. He is a jealous God and we are to not put anything above Him, or in place of Him. Since He is the author and creator of everything it only stands to reason that He should get ALL of our respect, admiration and worship.
First Commandment
II
  1. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
  2. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me
  3. And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
God is alive and well. He is a living God just as your mother and father are living. You don't make statues of your parents and then carry on conversations with them ... do you?? Well, the Lord God demands that you talk to Him personally and not some statue. He is all around us.
Second Commandment
III
  1. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
When people use God's Name, or the Son of God's Name, as a form of vulgar expression, or profanity - which are forms of blasphemy. This is only one way of taking the Lord's name in vain. The other is claiming to be a Christian and not following the Commandments of God. Merely claiming the Name of God's Son for one's self does not make one a true Christian.
Third Commanment and Third Commandment
IV
  1. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  2. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
  3. But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
  4. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
Now here is where I get the most flak. Right here in God's word we are told to remember the Sabbath. Which day is the Sabbath??? The seventh... the 7th day of the week. The day we call Saturday. Why then do so many meet and worship on Sunday?? Believe it or not, this came from the Pagan practice of sun worship. That is how the day got its name in the first place! Check your own Bible and please show me where it says that Sunday is the sabbath. The Lord God handed down a lot of punishment to His nation for breaking His sabbaths. Read the Old Testament. And yes the Old Testament is valid and important. Those were the scriptures that our Lord Jesus referred to many times while He was here on this earth. Couldn't be the New Testament scriptures ... they hadn't been written yet!! The whole Bible is God's Word.
Fourth Commandment and Facts About the Seventh Day
V
  1. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
If this commandment were followed to the fullest there would be a lot of us -not- still alive. In fact most of the children that I see today would be stoned. That was the punishment for a rebellious child back in the days when this commandment was first written. It is in the Bible. (Deuteronomy 21:21)
Fifth Commandment
VI
  1. Thou shalt not kill.
Prohibited murder, not lawful killing, such as in self-defense, or in defense of one's nation. But you know, Jesus said that anyone who hates his brother is a murderer.... so be careful on/with your emotions.
Sixth Commandment
VII
  1. Thou shalt not commit adultery
Many of you will say that you have not broken this commandment. Possibly not ... in the flesh. But, the Lord said that IF you look on a woman with lust you have committed adultery with her.
Seventh Commandment
VIII
  1. Thou shalt not steal.
Now just what is stealing?? Taking something that is not yours. Not paying for it. ot legally purchasing it. So, IF you take a paper clip from work ... is that stealing??? Do you know, or realize, how much strife in this world could be eliminated IF everyone obeyed just this one commandment??? Think about it.
Eighth Commandment
IX
  1. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Lying. Not telling the truth. Someone, somewhere will get hurt.
Nineth Commandment
X
  1. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
Coveting is a strong desire for possession. Such that, action is taken, and the results are sorrow... eventually for all.
Tenth Commandment

The Ten Commandments as changed by the Roman Catholic Church
Am I good enough?
The Stone Tablets
Should you Obey?

Now many of you have been lead to believe that the "Laws" or "Commandments" were nailed to the Cross and that we are no longer under the Law. Hmmmmm... then we can do anything we darn well please and still get into Heaven??? I don't think so and I really don't think that most of you think that way. What was "Nailed to the Cross" were our sins. Jesus our Lord took our punishment for what we are doing wrong. -But- we must confess our sins and ask for forgiveness. So how do we know that we have sinned??? Well, first we must define what sin is. Sin is a transgression of God's Law. And what is God's Law?? The Ten Commandments.

It is stated in the Bible that God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Now if that is the case then how can we say that the Ten Commandments are no longer valid?? That is what many are saying. It is said that we are under Grace and not the Law. Well, if there is no Law, then there is no Sin and we can just live our lives and be happy and merry and do anything that we want to do. -But- the Lord Himself said:
"If you love me, keep my commandments." John 14:15
Now prove me wrong. Read your Bible and then show me where I am wrong. Don't come back at me with man's traditions. Please come back with something that I missed... if you think I am wrong.
